A Big Bauble

It’s December and I can still ride my bike all around Munich without  freezing my fingers and toes. Yesterday, while Janos was playing with his new toy, a Wacom pen tablet, I thought I would cycle along the Isar to the north and then on my way home stop by the Arena, Munich’s showy soccer stadium, for a few photos.

When I  got there the stadium wasn’t looking too good against the grey afternoon sky. I then noticed that the last stragglers were rushing to get to their seats in time for the kick-off. A game was scheduled to start in a few minutes and I knew what that meant. At dusk the stadium would be lit up in the colors of the home team – RED! Wow! I hung around until it got almost dark so the colors would contrast with the dark sky. The Arena looked like a giant Christmas tree ornament.
